How to Get Over Heartbreak (2018)
A Studio-22 Short-film
As the Gaffer on How to Get Over Heartbreak, I was responsible for designing and executing the lighting setups that aligned with the director’s and cinematographer’s vision. Collaborating closely with the Director of Photography, I ensured the lighting enhanced the emotional tone and aesthetic of the film. My work involved:
Overseeing the lighting crew and managing on-set rigging of fixtures.
Developing creative solutions to achieve both naturalistic and stylized lighting designs, depending on the scene's narrative requirements.
Utilizing tools and techniques to balance practicality with artistry, ensuring seamless transitions between setups.
Adapting to the challenges of dynamic shooting schedules while maintaining visual continuity.
The role required technical expertise, teamwork, and problem-solving to ensure the lighting enriched the storytelling while adhering to production deadlines.
